The Virginian-Pilot  May 17, 1990  
Linwood "Red" Johnson, of the 1200 block of Midland St., a laborer, died May 
13, 1990, in a hospital. 
Mr. Johnson, a native of Suffolk, was a Baptist. 
Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn L. Watson of Chesapeake and Cynthia 
Johnson, Catherine Johnson and Celestine J. Mason, all of Portsmouth; two sons, 
Larry E. Johnson of Fontana, Calif., and Eric E. Johnson of Hanford, Calif.; 
three sisters, Elsie Bobbitt and Virginia Smith, both of Chesapeake, and Louise 
Meeks of Norfolk; two brothers, Raymond Johnson of Portsmouth and William 
Johnson of Suffolk; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. 
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Metropolitan Funeral Home by 
the Rev. Joseph Lassiter. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
