Her funeral was conducted Sunday at First Baptist Church, the Rev. R. H. Bowling officiating. Other participating ministers were the Rev. F. D. Nance and Rev. Mr. Hill. Mrs. Johnson had been a member of First Baptist for over 50 years. She belonged to the Women’s Auxiliary of Eureka Lodge, Inc., and the Phyllis Wheatley Circle of the Sons of Norfolk; also the Knights of Jerusalem. She was organizer of the Idle Wild Thrift Club. She is survived by a son, E. L. Jackson; daughters Mrs. Beatrice J. Smith, Mrs. Roberta Robertson, Miss Margie Johnson; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Riddick Funeral Home in charge.
