Norfolk - Mrs. Nixola Johnson, of 822 Hannah street, died recently in a local
hospital after a short illness. A native of Williamston, NC, she was the wife of
John F. Johnson Sr., and the daughter of James and Mrs. Fannie Whitehurst. She
was a missionary of First Baptist Church, Logan Park. Besides her husband,
surviving are two sons, John F. Johnson Jr., and James W. Johnson; and two
daughters, Mrs. Nixola Morrison and Mrs. Maxine Fitchett, all of Norfolk; and
seven grandchildren. Hale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
