Johnson Dies In Hospital After Operation Howard Archer Johnson, plant manager of the J.G. Wilson Corporation and a resident of Norfolk and Virginia Beach for the past 35 years, died at a local hospital last night at 8:37 o'clock. He was stricken with appendicitis three weeks ago and was well on the road to recovery when pneumonia developed, causing his death last night. Mr. Johnson was a native of Henrico County and had been associated with the J.G. Wilson Corporation for 30 years. He was 59 years of age and was the son of the late Jesse Lewis and Margaret Atlee Johnson. In addition to his wife, Mrs. Mary Ives Johnson, he is survived by one daughter, Miss Catherine Curtis Johnson, of Virginia Beach; one brother, Atlee Johnson, of Washington, D.C., and two sisters, Miss Margaret Johnson, of Washington, and Mrs. Charles Childrey, of Dumbarton. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity. The body was removed to the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Bro., 631 Westover avenue. Funeral services will be conducted at the grave in Magnolia Cemetery Thursday at 12 o'clock noon.
