Virginian Pilot January 16, 1903

Mr. Robert A.C. Johnson died at his home on Pearl street yesterday morning at 
3:45 o'clock after a brief illness of pneumonia.  He was 36 years of age and 
left a widow and two small children.  He came here about three weeks ago with 
his family from Halifax County, N.C. and was shortly afterwards taken ill.  The 
funeral will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock and 
Rev. A.J. Ramsey, pastor of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church; Rev. Herbert Scholz, 
pastor of Main Street Christian Church and Rev. W.A. Christian, pastor of 
Memorial M.E. Church will officiate.  The interment will be in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
The widow is very ill at the residence, and anyone charitably inclined can 
exercise that pleasure with propriety.
