Johnson, a former resident of this place, but more recently of Princess Anne station, on the Norfolk and Southern railroad, died at his home at the latter place yesterday afternoon about 5 o'clock, after a brief illness. He was 64 years old. The deceased was a native of Richmond, Va. and served with distinction in the Confederate Army. After the war he made his home in Berkley, where he lived quite a number of years, and later located in Princess Anne. The deceased leaves a widow and three married daughters, two of whom reside in South Norfolk. These are Mrs. George Funk and Mrs. James Boone. The deceased was an esteemed member of Middleton Lodge No. 145, I.O.O.F. and Chesapeake Tribe No. 50, I.O.R.M. The funeral will be conducted from the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church this afternoon at 5:30 o'clock and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. The above lodges will attend in a body. Smith, officiating. The interment was made in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley.
