Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, December 6, 1993 
Laura Mae Johnson, of the 6000 block of Clearsprings Road, died Dec. 4, 1993, in
a local hospital.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Lexington, N.C. She was a member of First Calvary
Baptist Church, Norfolk. She was a member of AR Caesar Sunday School class and
was a member of Usher Board 1 and the Missionary Circle.

Survivors include a daughter, Althia J. Garvin of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs.
Madie Mitchell of Portsmouth; two grandchildren; a son-in-law, Mr. Garry T.
Garvin Sr.; and a devoted friend, Cecelia Wilkerson.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in First Calvary Baptist Church,
Norfolk, by the Rev. Johnnie L. White. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Hale
Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family and friends will meet at the
residence at 11 a.m. Tuesday for the processional to the church.
