A native of Norfolk, she attended Norfolk public schools and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She was a graduate of Virginia State College, Petersburg, with a Bachelor of Science degree and took graduate study at Virginia State. She was a member of the Virginia Teachers Association, National Educational Association, and other civic and educational organizations. She was a member of Greater-Metropolitan AMEZ Church. Survivors include two brothers, Anthony Johnson and James H. Johnson of Norfolk; a niece, Miss Imelda M. Johnson, and a nephew, James H. Johnson Jr., both of Washington. A funeral will be held Sunday at 1:15 p.m. in Greater Metropolitan AMEZ Church by the Rev. Jackson A. Browne. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Riddick Funeral Service in charge.
