NORFOLK - Arthur Lee Johnson of 2739 Mapleton Ave., a native of Germantown, Pa.,
died Monday in his home.

He was employed by the Norfolk parks and forestry department for eight years. He
also was a member of St. Thomas AMEZ Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sallie Johnson; three daughters, LaVersa Cherry and
Piccola Cherry, both of Norfolk, and Kathy Cherry, of Denver; five sons, Thomas
Armstrong, Sidney Johnson, William Cherry, and Marcus Johnson, all of Norfolk, and
Tony Johnson of Denver; two sisters, Rosa L. Nelson of Denver and Mary J. Jones of
Norfolk; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Thomas AMEZ Church by the Rev. J.L.
Scott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
