Johnson, 51, of 1812 Berkley Ave. died Saturday at 8:45 p.m. in Norfolk hospital after short illness. He was a native of Painter, a son of Elmore and Mrs. Maggie Johnson. He was a barber in Todd's Barber Shop, a 33rd degree Mason, and a member of the Odd Fellows and of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, where he sang in the senior choir. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Johnson; two sons, Charlie Johnson of Washington, D.C., and Lee Johnson of Norfolk; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Rodgers and Miss Paulette Johnson of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Mageline Roane of Cape Charles and Mrs. Elizabeth Matthews of Philadelphia; two brothers, John J. Johnson of Washington and Arthur Johnson of of Philadelphia and four grandchildren. The body was taken to Morning Glory Funeral Home. Additional Comments: A funeral service for Charlie Lee Johnson, of 3812 Berkley Ave., who died Saturday will be held in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Thursday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. F.P. Wise, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
