New Journal and Guide, August 19, 1961

John R. Johnson, 84, of 811 Wood street, who died at his home on August 11, was 
given final rites Wednesday at Bank Street Baptist Church.

The Rev. J.B. Henderson, Bank Street pastor, officiated at the service for the 
retired postal worker. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Hale 
Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Johnson.
