Virginian-Pilot December 21, 1905
                      C. R. JOHNSON SHOT TO DEATH
Claude Raymond Johnson, a former resident of this city, was shot and instantly 
killed on Sunday at Mena, Ark. The news was received yesterday by other members of 
the family. The killing was done by a man named Davis. No details have been 
received as yet. Relatives of the young man have left for the scene. The burial 
will probably occur at Mena. The dead man was a son of the late L. P. Johnson and 
a brother of Branch and Hammond Johnson.
