                     Funeral of Mrs. Ella E. Johnson.
The funeral of the late Mrs. Ella E. Johnson, wife of C. C. Johnson, of this
city, was held at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The remains were removed
from the residence, in Bart street, to the Freemason Street Baptist church in 
Norfolk, where the services were conducted by the Rev. Dr. A. E. Owen, assisted by 
Dr. Taylor, pastor of the church. The interment was in Elmwood cemetery. Messrs. 
R. A. Hutchins, R. L. Herbert, R. E. White, W. S. Stroud, James Whitehurst, George 
S. Bell, Charles T. Bland and Jacob Winingder acted as pallbearers.
