Police identified her as Mrs. Mary L. Johnson of the 9500 block of 6th Bay Street. An autopsy will be performed by a state medical examiner to determine the cause of death. The accident occurred at 11 a.m. at 5th Bay Street and Pretty Lake Avenue, about a block from her home, police said. She was dead on arrival at De Paul Hospital police reported. Mrs. Johnson was the widow of Junius E. Johnson and a daughter of George Edward and Mrs. Anna Land Crymes. A native of Mecklenberg County, she lived in Norfolk most of her life. She was a member of East Ocean View Presbyterian Church, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century and Sarah Constant Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was employed by Personnel Service Co. Mrs. Johnson is survived by three daughters, Mrs. E. C. Curling and Mrs. P. H. McCaleb of Norfolk and Mrs. Arthur W. Harrison of Richmond; two sons, Arthur Lee Wilber Jr. of Falls Church and George I. Wilber of Baltimore; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Eunice B. Skramstead of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Eva Elizabeth Humbert of Gary, Ind.; a stepson, Sherwood D. Johnson of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Wilshire Simmons and Mrs. George Dunn of South Hill; a brother, Dr. John Crymes of Colorado City, Tex.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to East Ocean View Presbyterian Church for a funeral on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The service will be conducted by the Rev. J. Gordon Riggan. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The body will be in the church and] hour before the service. The family will be at 615 Connecticut Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to East Ocean View Presbyterian Church.
