Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, August 19, 1993 
Marie C. ``Peggy'' Johnson of the 100 block of Suburban Parkway, a retired
private duty nurse, died Aug. 17, 1993, in her residence.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was the widow of Charles C. Johnson
and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Norfolk. She had retired
after seven years of service.

Survivors include four daughters, Valerie Johnson, Beverly Land, Debra Johnson
and Charlene Johnson; four sons, Charles C. Johnson, Nathaniel Johnson, Danny
Johnson, John L. Johnson; and her mother, Marie Foster, all of Norfolk; one
brother, Daniel Atkins of Brooklyn; 24 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church,
Norfolk, by the Rev. Keith Cook. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends
will assemble with the family at 100 Suburban Parkway, Apt. 3049, Norfolk, on
Saturday at 11 a.m. for the processional to the church. Metropolitan Funeral
Service is handling arrangements.
