On Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, Beatrice Johnson , 103, was called home from her
earthly labor to eternal peace by her Heavenly Father. She was born March 10,
1899 in Princess Anne County, Virginia Beach, to the late Wilson and Laura
Petty. She was married to the late Elijah Johnson and was a devoted mother,
loving sister, aunt and friend to all she met.

Her departure leaves many to mourn her loss including one son, Jack Johnson Sr.;
a devoted daughter-in-law, Helen; one sister, Pauline Daniels; three
grandchildren, Gevonie R. Brown, Jack Johnson Jr. and wife Melissa and David K.
Johnson and wife Lorna; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews
and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Coliseum Park Nursing
Home. Special appreciation goes to Fannie Ford and Joyce Golden for their
outstanding care for my mother.

A funeral will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Bank Street Memorial
Baptist Church by Dr. C. Kirkland-Harris. Viewing will be held Friday from 2 to
8 p.m. at Riddick Funeral Service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
