Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, May 1, 2001 
NEWPORT NEWS - Verlene G. Johnson of the 14500 block of Old Courthouse Way died
April 28, 2001.

A native of Norfolk, she was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church and the
United Order of Tent.

She is survived by her daughter, Renee Carr of Newport News; a son, Michael
Johnson of Norfolk; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of
other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Cemetery .
Friends may join the family at 357 Bridgewater Drive, Newport News. Graves
Funeral Home is in charge.
