Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, January 25, 2001 
Bridgette Lynn Johnson, 39, of the 2500 block of Keller Ave., died Jan. 20,
2001, at home.

She was born in Milwaukee, Wis., and retired in 2000 as a library media
assistant for the Norfolk Public School board after 14 years of service. She was
a member of Hampton Roads Church of Christ, Norfolk, and was a 1982 graduate of
Granby High School and attended Tidewater Community College until June of 1999
when she was a sophomore.

Survivors include her husband, Elbert Johnson Jr.; a daughter, Renee Tonya
Johnson, both of Norfolk; stepparents, Hattie Johnson and Harold Johnson, both
of Milwaukee; a sister, Tyjuan Smith of Milwaukee; five brothers, Bernard
Johnson, Harold Edwards, Steve Edwards, Lamonte Johnson, all of Milwaukee, and
Richard Johnson of New York City; her grandmother, Faye Hale of Milwaukee; and a
host of other relatives, family and friends.

A funeral will be at noon Saturday in New Hope Baptist Church, 395 Old Great
Neck Road, Virginia Beach, with interment in Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. The
family will receive relatives and friends for remembrance and visitation from 7
to 9 p.m. Friday at P.G. Thomasson Funeral Services, Bonney Road Chapel.
