The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Saturday October 9, 1937
Mrs. Sarah Catherine Johnson, aged 57, died at her residence on Porter street, 
South Norfolk, Thursday night at 11:30 o'clock after a brief illness.  She was 
a native of Hertford County, N.C., and had made her home in this section 42 
years.  She was the daughter of the late William J. and Martha E. Pierce 
Wilder, Sr., and widow of Rufus Johnson.  She is survived by one son, Raymond 
Lilley, South Norfolk; one daughter, Mrs. Ella Mae Wallace, Norfolk; one 
sister, Mrs. Mary E. Savage, South Norfolk; one brother, William J. Wilder, 
Norfolk; five half-brothers, Leonidus, George Thomas, Waverly M., Norman and 
Roland Wilder, all of South Norfolk, and six grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets, 
South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 
o'clock.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
