Virginian Pilot August 11, 1907

Mrs. Mary Jane Johnson, widow of the late Jordan Johnson, died at the home of 
her son-in-law, C.F. Simmons, 812 Tunstall Avenue, Brambleton, at 6:35 o'clock 
yesterday morning in the 68th year of her age. The funeral will be held from 
Emmanuel Episcopal Church at 4 o'clock this afternoon.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Mary Jane Johnson, relict of Jordan Johnson, was 
solemnized from Emmanuel Episcopal Church Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock and was 
largely attended. The service was conducted by Rev. E.B. Snead, pastor of the 
church, and Rev. Calvin S. Blackwell, D.D., of the First Baptist Church. There 
was a profusion of lovely floral tributes. The remains were laid to rest in 
Elmwood Cemetery and the pallbearers were as follows: J. Gornto, W. Williamson, 
T.J. Whealton, C.R. Hinton, S.P. Wixon and J.J. West.
