Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, April 1, 1998 
Martha Williams Johnson, 89, of the 800 block of Virginia Beach Blvd., died
March 28, 1998.

Born in Norfolk, she was the widow of James A. Johnson and a member of Second
Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette J. Lassiter of Norfolk and Carolyn E.
Johnson of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter, Madeline Lucas of Norfolk; four sons,
Arthur H. Johnson and Charles Raymond Johnson, both of Norfolk, James E. Johnson
of Upper Marlboro, Md., Alfred B. Johnson of Atlanta; 35 grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be at noon Thursday by the Rev. Dr. Geoffrey V. Guns in Second
Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family
will receive friends at 420 Saddle Rock Road, Norfolk. Community Funeral Home,
Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
