NORFOLK – Herbert Allen Johnson of 898 Lexington St., a retired, 30-year employee 
of Norfolk Naval Base and a lifelong Norfolk resident, died Saturday in a 
hospital.
He was a son of Mrs. Mable Johnson. He was a former student of St. Joseph’s 
Catholic School and a World War II veteran.
Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Jessie L. Fincham of Norfolk.
A Christian Wake service will be held Wednesday night at 7:30 in Riddick Funeral 
Service Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at noon in St. Mary’s 
Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. Thomas Quinlan. Burial, with military honors, will 
be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will be at his sister's home, 6360 
Glenoak Drive.
