Funeral services for Roland L. Johnson, 1713 Selden avenue were held Thursday, 
July 17 at 1 p.m. from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. R. T. 
Adams, officiating.

A native of Bertie County, NC, and the son of the late Joseph and Mrs. Ferebee 
Johnson, he died Saturday, July 12, after a long illness.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Altester Cuffee, Mrs. Jeanette Sawyer 
and Mrs. Atline Mack; one son, Samuel Lee Johnson; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie 
Holloman and Mrs Josephine Turner; three brothers, Joseph, Lewis, and Fletcher 
Johnson; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren and other relatives.

Burial was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery with Pretlows Funeral Home in charge.
