The Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 7, 1942


Robert Montell Johnson, aged 52, husband of Bertie Ozment Johnson, died at a 
local hospital yesterday at 6:50 a.m.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert G. Johnson, of Lansdale; two 
daughters, Mrs. W.H. Washburn of Virginia Beach, and Mrs. A.C. Jennette, of 
Cape Henry; a sister, Mrs. Lee Reaves, of North Carolina; six brothers, Albert 
Johnson, of Sand Springs, Okla., W.H. and Fred Johnson, both of Greensboro, 
N.C., Lon Johnson, of High Point, N.C., Edward Johnson of Macon, Ga., and Lacy 
Johnson, of Overhill, N.C.; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and 
nephews. Mr. Johnson was a native of Greensboro, N.C., and had been a resident 
of Norfolk for twelve years. 
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
morning at 11 o’clock. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
