Mr. Johnson, who lived at 1434 Lead street, died Nov. 23 in a Norfolk hospital. His eulogy was delivered by the Rev. Joseph M. Copeland of Union Christian Congregational Church. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Morning Glory Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was a native of Warren County, NC. He lived in Norfolk 60 years and retired from National Oil Company 16 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alice Johnson, to whom he was married for 69 years; three sons, the Rev. E. A. Johnson of South Norfolk; Dr. James Johnson of Chicago, and Alfred Johnson Sr. of Philadelphia; two daughters, Miss Roberta Johnson of Norfolk and Mrs. Willie Lee Flowers of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Mary McNear of Southern Pines, NC, Mrs. Rosa Harrington of Red Springs, NC, and Mrs. Anna Bella Alson of Washington; a brother, Robert Johnson of Washington; 13 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.
