Norfolk - Ellis Moses Johnson Sr., 80, of 925 Wood street, died in a local 
hospital recently. A native of Elizabeth City, NC, he was the husband of 
Mrs. Maude Johnson and the son of Tennison D. and Mrs. Sallie S. Johnson. He 
was a retired longshoreman and a member of Bank Street Baptist Church.

Also surviving are two sons, Ellis M. Johnson Jr. of Norfolk, and Army Lt. 
Colonel Vernon E. Johnson of Ismir Turkey; two daughters, Mrs. Katherine 
Reynolds and Mrs. Doris Mattox of New York, and a sister, Mrs. Hattie Jones 
of South Boston.

Funeral service was held in Riddick Funeral Home with burial in Calvary 
Cemetery.
