Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, February 13, 1992 
William H. Johnson Sr., of the 800 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd., a
self-employed carpenter, died Feb. 11, 1992, in a hospital.

Mr. Johnson was born in Norfolk. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and
Eureka Lodge. He was the widower of Lucille B. Johnson.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara A. Sumner of El Monte, Calif., and
Verlean J. Walker of Chesapeake; four sons, Joseph L. Johnson and Emmett O.
Johnson, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Lorenzo L. Johnson of Chesterfield, Va.,
and Ronald J. Johnson of Norfolk; a sister, Elizabeth Washington of New York
City; 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Grace Episcopal Church by
the Rev. Joseph N. Green. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be
placed in the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Friends may join the family at 4008
Spring Meadow Crescent, Chesapeake, and will assemble at 10:15 a.m. in Hale
Funeral Home for the procession.
