Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark April 26, 1931

Mrs. Lelia Lavenia Johnston, aged 57, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon 
at 3:15 o'clock. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Nock and Misses 
Kathleen and Anne Elizabeth Johnston; two sons, Percy L. and J. Maywood Johnston; 
a brother, John L. Whitehurst and three grandchildren, all of Norfolk. Mrs. 
Johnston was a native of Princess Anne County, but had been a resident of Norfolk 
for the last 50 years. She was the widow of J.E. Johnston and was a member of the 
First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
afternoon at 4 o'clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
