Robert Ross Johnston, II, 87, died Nov. 18, 2018, at his home in the First 
Colonial Inn, Virginia Beach. Mr. Johnston was a native of Norfolk, and was the 
son of the late J. Brooks and Virginia C. Johnston. Survivors include his 
daughter, Ellen J. Travelstead and her husband, Jack of Woodbury, VT and his 
son, Richard L. Johnston of Virginia Beach. He was preceded by his brothers, J. 
Brooks Johnston, Jr. and Edward C. Johnston and his sister, Virginia J. 
Clements. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and a Korean War 
Veteran. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 2:00 pm 
in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. A reception will follow at the clubhouse at Herons 
Cover, Shearwater Cove, Virginia Beach. Online condolences may be offered to the
