Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch September 29, 1951
Miss Sarah Johnston, 83, daughter of the late Thomas and Mrs. Jane Hicks Johnston, 
a native of Baltimore, Md., and a resident of Norfolk for 50 years, died at 8 
o'clock this morning at the Lydia H. Roper Home. Surviving her are three nieces, 
Mrs. Mabel J. Crist, Mrs. T. W. Johnston and Mrs. G. W. Sullivan, and a nephew, 
Phillip Crist.
Services will be held at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Monday 
morning at 11 o'clock, with the Rev. T. Roy Jarrett, pastor of the First Methodist 
Church, of which Miss Johnston was a member, officiating. Interment will be in 
Cedar Grove Cemetery.
