Mrs. Johnston, a native of Charlotte, N.C., was the widow of J. Brooks Johnston. She was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church and Society of Colonial Dames of America. She was a former secretary of Loving Circle of The King's Daughters. Survivors include a daughter, Virginia J. Clements of Norfolk; two sons, Edward C. Johnston and Robert R. Johnston, both of Norfolk; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Beverly Tucker Jr. and George D. Heath. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 pm. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Colonial Avenue Chapel.
