NORFOLK - Harold Linwood Jones, 48, of 733 Chapel St., veteran Virginia ABC 
Board employee, died Sunday in his home.
A native of Norfolk, he was a son of Harvey L. and Mrs. Emma V. Jones and 
husband of Mr. Bertha M. Jones. He was manager of ABC Store 257 six years and 
had worked for the board 20 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of 
Confraternity Christian Doctrine of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He was a World War II veteran.
Surviving, besides his widow and parents, are two brothers, Harvey L. Jones Jr. 
and Andrew Jones of Norfolk; five sisters, Mrs. Thelma Joyner, Mrs. A. Catherine 
Mason, Mrs. Altona Robinson and Miss Arnetta Jones of Norfolk and Mrs. Odessa 
DeMelo of Philadelphia.
The body was taken to Morning Glory Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church 
by the Rev. Joseph G. LeFrois. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rosary 
will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the church.
