American Beacon and Norfolk and Portsmouth Daily Advertiser March 17, 1842
On the 15th instant, in the 86th year of his age, the Rev. Thomas T. Jones. Mr. Jo
Jones was a native of England, but immigrated to this country in his youth, and fo
for the last forty two years of his life he was a resident of this Borough. As a 
a minister of Jesus Christ he maintained and honored his high and holy vo
vocation, as a husband and father, he exemplified the lofty principals of re
religion and humanity; and as a citizen and friend, he engaged the confidence an
and affection of all who knew him. His last illness was long and sometimes very pa
painful, but he bore it all with dignified patience and resignation, and died at
at last with patriarchal composure and glorious Christion triumph.
Without further notice, his friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited t
to attend his funeral this afternoon, at 3 o’clock, in the Methodist E Church.
