Norfolk Virginian Pilot Saturday December 17, 1949
William J. Jones, 73, died at his residence, 1426 Bainbridge Boulevard, 
Thursday at 9:10 p.m. after a long illness.
A merchant, he had been a resident of this section 52 years. He was a member of 
the South Norfolk Baptist Church.
Mr. Jones was a son of the late D.W. Jones and Mrs. Cenna E. Etheridge Jones. 
Surviving are his brother, Fred F. Jones, and several nieces. His wife died 
about five weeks ago.
The body was removed to the J.R. Williams Funeral Home where services will be 
conducted today at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

William J. Jones - Funeral services for Mr. Jones, of 1426 Bainbridge 
Boulevard, who died Thursday were conducted yesterday at 2 p.m. at the J.R. 
Williams Funeral Home, South Norfolk, by the Rev. Frank Hughes, pastor of the 
South Norfolk Baptist Church. Pallbearers were J.T. Forehand, Herman White, 
H.P. Lane, J.G. Bray, Sr., Fred Copeland and A.L. Rountree. Burial was in 
Magnolia Cemetery
