Jones Dies; Managed Lumber Co. William James Jones, 75, lumber company executive and former motor company owner-operator, died Friday at 12:10 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital. A lifelong resident of Norfolk, lately at 1148 Hanover Ave., he was the husband of Mrs. Mary Warren Jones. His late parents were George W. and Mrs. Viola Mae Spence Jones. He was general manager of Rowland Lumber Co. and had been associated with the firm 35 years. From 1936 to 1939, he owned and operated the Carolina Motor Co. in Elizabeth City, N.C. METHODIST He was a former member of Memorial Methodist Church, Berkley. Besides his wife, surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gus C. Turner Jr., Mrs. Rudolph Cobb and Mrs. Ross Schuman, all of Norfolk; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, George W. Jones Jr. of Scarsdale, N.Y., and Charles E. Jones of St. Petersburg, Fla., and one sister, Mrs. Ralph Porter of Norfolk. A funeral service will be conducted at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Sunday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. C. Ambrose Turner Jr., pastor of Larchmont Methodist Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
