South Norfolk - Mrs Hattie Jane Jones of 613 W. Liberty street died April 8 
at a Norfolk hospital. Funeral service was held on April 12 at Welcome 
Temple Baptist Church, South Norfolk, with the pastor, the Rev. O. M. Mayes, 
officiating.

Mrs. Jones was a native of Raeford, NC. She was a member of the Community 
Charity Club. She was a member of Welcome Church.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Jones; three sons, Curtis Jones, 
Brooklyn; Leander and Roosevelt Jones, South Norfolk; two daughters, Misses 
Louise and Inez Jones, Norfolk; six sisters, Mrs. Pearlie McClean, Raeford, 
NC; Mrs. Sophie Morris, Red Springs NC; Mrs. Lillie Harp, High Point NC; 
Mrs. Jessie Bell McByrd, South Norfolk; Mrs. Louella White, Atlantic City 
NJ, and Mrs. Ionnie Casper, Portsmouth; three brothers, James A. McByrd, Red 
Springs; Woodrow McByrd, Philadelphia; and Jimmie McNeal, Philadelphia; four 
grandchildren and other relatives.

Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Fitchett’s Funeral Home in charge 
of arrangements.
