Norfolk Virginian Pilot Wednesday January 12, 1938
Joseph R. Jones, aged 62, died in Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Monday 
afternoon after a long illness.  He was the son of the late George and Mrs. 
Martha Jones, a native of Petersburg and a resident of Norfolk practically 
all of his life.  He was employed as an electrician in the Norfolk Navy 
Yard.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Etta B. Jones, of Norfolk; one daughter, 
Mrs. P.J. Dewes, of Keyport, Wash.; one brother, Bonney Jones; one sister, 
Mrs. Sarah J. Berry, of the Eastern Shore of Virginia and one grandchild, 
P.J. Dewes, Jr., of Keyport, Wash.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the 
Derry Funeral Chapel, corner Colley and Harrington avenues.  The Rev. G.E. 
Hopkins, pastor of LeKees Methodist Church and the Rev. P. Roland Wagner, 
pastor of the Central Baptist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in 
Cedar Grove Cemetery.
