The Virginian Pilot & Norfolk Landmark September 20, 1939
Charles Anderson Jones, aged 85, office executive of the International 
Equipment Company, died at the residence of his son, Dr. Z. Vance Jones, 91 
Jamestown Crescent, yesterday morning at 7:15 o'clock. He had been ill 17 days.
The son of Edward P. and Nancy M. Watson Jones, Mr. Jones was a native of Hyde 
County, N.C. and had resided in Norfolk 19 years. He was a member of the 
Larchmont Methodist Church and was active in the affairs of the Three Score 
and Ten Club.
Mr. Jones is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Leonard K. Rutter; three sons, Dr. 
Jones, Leslie E. and Samuel G. Jones, all of Norfolk; 13 grandchildren and 
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home, 631 Westover 
avenue, this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. Daniel T. Merritt, pastor 
of the Larchmont Methodist Church, and the Rev. Dewey B. Mullins, pastor of 
Memorial Methodist Church, Berkley, officiating.
Burial will be in the family plot in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
