Norfolk Virginian Pilot Friday April 3, 1942
Charlie Cleveland Jones, aged 52, died at a local hospital Wednesday night at 
7:30 o'clock after a brief illness.  He was the son of the late William B. and 
Mrs. Mary Liverman Jones.  He was a native of Columbia, N.C. and had resided 
here for the past 15 years.  Besides his wife, Mrs. Lillian D. Jones, he is 
survived by four daughters, Mrs. Elma Heitman, Mrs. Elsie Rendflelach, Mrs. 
Gladys Gurganus and Miss Mary E. Jones; a son, William A. Jones, all of Norfolk; 
four sisters, Mrs. J.J. Armstrong, Mrs. D. K. Sawyer, Mrs. Emanuel Bateman, all 
of Columbia, N.C. and Mrs. George Swindell, of Norfolk; two brothers, Benjamin 
B. Jones, of Columbia, N.C. and George W. Jones, of Deep Creek; five 
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was a member of W.O.W. Camp 
No. 3, of Virginia.
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in the funeral 
chapel of James V. Derry, 1920 Colley avenue.
