He was employed as a watchman at the Colonna Shipyard, Berkley. A native of Camden County, N.C., he had made his home here for two years. He was a son of the late John and Mrs. Parsha Staples Jones. The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk. ********************************************* William Alphus Jones, 73, died Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Whitley, Third Street, Providence Grove, near Edmonds Corner, after a short illness. He was employed as a watchman at the Colonna Shipyard, Berkley. A native of Camden County, N.C., he had made his home here for two years. He was a son of the late John and Mrs. Parsha Staples Jones. The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
