Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - July 25, 1992

Viola M. Jones of the 1000 block of Rugby St., a retired nurse, died July 
22, 1992, in a hospital.
Mrs. Jones was born in Newport News and was the widow of Jackson A. Jones. 
She had retired from Lake Taylor Hospital. She was a member of Shiloh 
Baptist Church; Order of Eastern Star 101, Daughter of Elks 1A; United Order 
of Tents 250; Calanthe Court, Knights of Pythias 278; One Hundred Women; and 
Huntersville Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene A. Lawson Jr. and Silas M. Wood, both of 
Norfolk; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Shiloh Baptist Church by 
the Rev. John B. Foster. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Viewing will 
begin at 1 p.m. Sunday in Chatman Funeral Home. The body will be placed in 
church at 9:30 a.m.
