Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, February 26, 1992 
Vernice Jones of the 2900 block of Liberia Drive, died Feb. 22, 1992, in a
hospital.

Mrs. Jones was born in Norfolk. She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church,
Senior Citizens Club, Norfolk Social Club and Excelsior Circle of Norfolk.

Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Ledbetter of Petersburg, Burnett
Newton of Chesapeake and Delois Jones of Norfolk; three sons, Russell Jones of
Portsmouth, and Melvin Jones and Vernon Jones, both of Norfolk; 20 grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Mount Carmel Baptist Church
by the Rev. Clarence V. Russell Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends
may join the family at 2933 Liberia Drive. The body will be placed in the church
at 11 a.m. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
