The Virginian-Pilot, Wednesday, September 13, 1961

NORFOLK - Mrs. Mary Jones of 1342 Reservoir Ave. died Tuesday at 9:25 a.m. in 
her home after a long illness.

She was a daughter of the late Bill and Mrs. Maria Mason and the widow of Sam 
Jones. A native of Mathews County, she lived in Norfolk more than 50 years. She 
was the oldest member and mother of St. Marks A.M.E. Zion Church.

She has no known survivors.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.
