NORFOLK - James Isaac Jones, 62, of 708 Dennison Ave. died Sunday at 1:55 a.m. 
in a Norfolk hospital after short illness.

He was a son of George and Mrs. Lou Jones. A native of Blackstone, he lived in 
Norfolk 45 years.

He was employed at Arcade Bakery 20 years. He was a member of Raphael Masonic 
Lodge 162 and New Calvary Baptist Church, where he was an usher.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Josephine Jones; two sons, James Jones Jr. of 
Atlantic City, N.J., and Charles Jones of Norfolk; four daughters, Mrs. 
Elbreonne Mathews of Newark, N.J., Mrs. Hortense Carter and Miss Caresstte Jones 
of Atlantic City and Mrs. Dorothy Drummond of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Rosa 
Taylor, and a brother James Taylor, both of Norfolk; and 19 grandchildren.

The body was taken to Graves Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in New 
Calvary Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Samuel Wilson. Burial will 
be in the church cemetery.
