Mrs. Jones, a native of New Brunswick, N.J., was the widow of George R. Jones. She was an honor graduate of the Miner Teacher's College which is now a part of the University of the District of Columbia. She had retired from the Norfolk public school system in 1972 and taught at Abraham Lincoln, Diggs Park, Lott Carey, Madison Junior High and Suburban Park Elementary. She was also one of the teachers who assisted in desegregating the faculty in the Norfolk public school system. Survivors include two daughters, Elaine R. Jones of Washington, D.C., and Gwendolyn J. Jackson of Norfolk; a son, the Rev. G. Daniel Jones of Philadelphia; two brothers, the Rev. G.G. Campbell Sr. of Richmond and John R. Campbell of Norfolk; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. G.G. Campbell Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 8 to 9 p.m. Friday in Hale Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Tape Ministry at New Calvary Baptist Church.
