NORFOLK - Joseph (Duke) Jones Jr. of 2717 Argonne Ave., a native of Norfolk and the
husband of Ruth Jones, died Saturday in a hospital.

He was a retired, 17-year Alcoholic Beverage Commission store employee and was an
Army veteran. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church and its Zion Builders
Sunday School Class; Prince Hall Masonic Lodge; St. Thomas Chapter 51, Order of the
Easter Star; Cohesian Royal Arch Chapter 14; and Army Veterans. He was a past master
of Progressive Lodge 80.

Other survivors include a sister, Deborah Jackson of Norfolk; and three brothers,
Charles Jones and Johnny Jones of Norfolk and Bobby Jones of Bronx, N.Y.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Lebanon Baptist Church by
the Rev. Ronnie Joyner. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Graves Funeral Home is in charge. The body will be place in the church at 11 a.m.
Tuesday. The family will be at 708 Washington Ave.
