Cl, retired legal secretary and member of an old Norfolk family, died Friday in a hospital. Miss Jones was a lifelong Norfolk resident. She was secretary to the law firm of Willcox, Cooke & Willcox for 36 years and retired. She was a daughter of Charles Edward and Mrs. Mattie White Jones. On her mother's side, she was the granddaughter of John S. White, who was Portsmouth's first mayor when it ceased to be a borough. She was a graduate of the Old Leach-Wood Seminary in Norfolk. She long had been active in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and was a charter member of the Norfolk Business and Professional Women's Club, which elected her as an honorary life member upon her retirement from business. Survivors include five cousins, Miss Mabel A. Henderson of Norfolk, E. Oakleigh Henderson of White Plains, N.Y., Mrs. Charles Fuller of Cambridge, Md., Mrs. Henry Chiles of Crozet, Va., and Mrs. Henry K. Moffitt of Columbia, S.C. The body was taken to H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments. A funeral will be held Monday at 4 p.m. in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church by the Rev. David Lassalle. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
