JONES
Allen T. Jones, age 74, died Saturday, February 18, 1995, in a local hospital. 
He graduated from Maury High School, Norfolk, VA, and was a member of the Alpha 
Fraternity. He attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and was 
a member of Sigma Nu. During World War II, he served in the 8th Air Force and 
was stationed in England. He was awarded a Purple Heart. Survivors include his 
wife, Elizabeth J. Jones; a son, Allen T. Jones Jr.; two daughters, Suzanne 
Heres of LaMirada, CA, and Emily Burke of Columbia, MD; and six grandchildren. 
He is also survived by a sister, Betty Ann Brown of Lutherville, MD. Family will 
receive friends Tuesday from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Norfolk. Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. In 
lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
