Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch June 17, 1939
Mrs. Florence Swank Jones, aged 84, widow of Walter H. Jones, and daughter of the 
late Luther and Mrs. Cassandra Murphy Swank, died at the residence of her son, 
Arthur P. Jones, at Virginia Beach, last night at 11:30 o'clock. She was a native 
and lifelong resident of Norfolk and was a member of the First Presbyterian 
Church. Surviving are three sons, Arthur P., W. Barham and Kenneth S. Jones, all 
of Norfolk; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the residence, 418 Mowbray Arch, Norfolk, Sunday 
afternoon at 5 o'clock, with the Rev. Jason L. MacMillan, D.D., pastor of the 
First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
