ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — Frances McKinney Jones, 84, of 603 Wilson St., a native 
of Chicago and a former resident of Norfolk, died Wednesday in Roanoke Rapids. 
She was the widow of Charles Wesley Jones.
Mrs. Jones graduated from Granby High School in Norfolk and attended Sweet Briar 
College.
Survivors include a daughter, Grace Jones Fishel of Roanoke Rapids; a son, 
Charles W. Jones Jr. of Wilmington, Del.; a sister, Lois M. Shapleigh of St. 
Louis; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today in Elmwood Cemetery 
by the Rev. J. Shepherd Russell Jr. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is 
in charge.
